Untuk menjamin jalannya proyek konstruksi mampu diselesaikan dengan biaya yang minimal dan dalam waktu yang sesuai dengan yang dijanjikan, maka dibutuhkan manajemen konstruksi yang tepat. Manajemen konstruksi berperan untuk menjamin jalannya pengkordinasian dan komunikasi diantara semua bagian dalam suatu proyek konstruksi, yang pada umumnya terdiri dari persoalan biaya, waktu, mutu, SDM, pengadaan, lingkungan, K3, resiko, klaim dan berbagai hal lain yang mempengaruhi keberhasilan proyek konstruksi.
Dalam berbagai situasi seorang manajer proyek bertanggungjawab untuk merencanakan, menjadwal dan mengendalikan proyek yang memiliki sejumlah besar pekerjaan dan kegiatan yang terpisah dan dilakukan oleh bagian-bagian dan atau indivisu-individu yang berbeda. Seringkali proyek ini sedemikian besarnya sehingga sangat rumit dan tidak mungkin manajer mengingat semua informasi mengenai rencana, jadwal dan pengerjaan proyek tersebut. Dalam situasi seperti ini Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) dan program Critical Path Methode (CPM) terbukti berguna untuk merencanakan, menjadwalkan sekaligus mengendalikan proyek yang sedang ditangani.
Di Indonesia merupakan negara yang berkembang dimana banyak sekali proyek yang sedang di kerjakan dalam pengerjaan proyek terdapat aktivitas – aktivitas didalamnya diantaranya ada procurement project yaitu dimana aktivitasnya meliputi aktivitas planning, procurement, resources mobilization, & project monitoring, akan menentukan keberhasilan implementasi suatu project. Namun dalam pengerjaan suatu proyek juga harus memerhatikan risiko – risiko yang kemungkinan terjadi dalam pengerjaannya. Tidak diantisipasinya risiko akan berakibat fatal pada keberhasilan proyek. Untuk itu training ini akan membahas bagaimana project procurement serta risiko – risiko yang ada di dalamnya.
